The Future 250 Roehampton Project Team is excited to work with existing tenants and the broader community on a proposal for a new residential building at 250 Roehampton Avenue.

We are early in the process and currently preparing a planning application for the City of Toronto’s review.

Frequently Asked Questions

I currently live in 250 Roehampton. Could I live in the new building?

Nothing changes for you today or in the near future. The planning application process requires multiple steps, and approval before any construction could begin. We are committed to keeping you informed throughout the process.

Eligible tenants are entitled to the right to return to a new modern unit in the redevelopment. This unit will be the same type of unit you currently live in, of a similar size, and with similar rent.

If the application is approved by the City of Toronto, when might tenants need to relocate from their units?

The planning approval process takes time and no application has been submitted at this time. No construction will take place until we have secured all the necessary approvals from the City of Toronto. The earliest we anticipate tenants would need to relocate is in 2029.

How can I learn more about the Rental Replacement process?

The Project Team is available to discuss the details of this process with the 250 Roehampton residents. We will be updating you with all of the information you need to know. The City of Toronto will also be reaching out to tenants to share information about your rights as a tenant in this process.

Will construction be starting soon?

No. A planning application has not yet been submitted to the City of Toronto. When it does, the application will be extensively reviewed by City Staff before a decision will be made by City Council. No changes will happen until all necessary permissions have been granted by the City.
